A popular pick among skiers and fashion-savvy lowland adventurers this year's Raider VIII Fleece Vest features a new Polartec Classic 200 fleece made with a double velour design. Spyder kept the durable nylon taslan mini box weave reinforcements along the shoulders and sides so you can still wear a backpack over the vest and not hassle with excess pilling after a trip or two (that's a common problem with the cheap fleece pieces but if you're looking at Spyder you probably already knew that). The Raider VIII features two zippered handwarmer pockets and a zippered chest pocket with reflective Spyder logo detailing. If you need wind protection the Polartec Classic 200 fleece won't give you much on a gusty day (unless you layer it over a shell) but you might be better off with the similar features found on Spyder's windproof Windstop III Fleece Vest.
