Men's Foil Ski Boot from Salomon

Salomon Men's Foil Ski Boot

It no longer has the Teneighty in its name but the Foil remains a one-of-a-kind for guys who do freestyle throughout the day. Made for parks pipes and killer jumps Salomon's Foil Ski Boot offers many of the high-end features found on the top-shelf Gun but this one has a Sport last that's more comfortable for wearing all day (the Gun is great--but it's a Performance last made for competition events and those usually don't run non-stop for eight hours like some ski areas). That said Salomon's Flex rating of 85 (the max for Salomon is 120) is more than enough to get you into the game when you're ready to perform your best for the judges and photographers. Like other high-end Salomon ski boots the Foil has an asymmetrical Spaceframe design with new hexagonal shell holes to soften the shell without undermining the structural stability. It's no secret that hexagons are exceptionally sturdy (even honeybees have a clue about that) but Salomon's hexagonal shell doesn't hit you with a weak spot on the external side of the uphill boot so you enjoy a more fluid edge-to-edge transition through turns. The inside boot edge remains stiff for better power transmission and excellent control. Because Salomon enhanced the ComfortFit liner on all their boots you'll find more of a performance-oriented fit that feels plush against your foot. There's also more cushion in the sole--because you can always use more of that when you're flying higher than you've ever gone before.
