Security in an insecure world....
The Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy really saved by butt a few times in alpine territory. From Mt. Washington, NH in the winter to the rainy season in Mexico, the Advanced bivy has protected me from the wind, the driving rain, the bugs and the snow. As an alpine climber, I appreciate the weight, as well as the versatility that the stake/guy loops provide. I never once felt as though myself or the bivy were going to fly away in the breeze. Also, I would never again buy a Bivy withough a pole that keeps the material off of my face. This is CRUCIAL and you can find this feature in almost all of the Bivy's that Altrec.com sells. Note: this bivy would be good if you feel as though you may be claustrophobic or you are a tall/large mountaineer. It has great amounts of room compared to other bivy's. A Top quality performance bivy for top proirity expeditions.
