Is it a perfect 10? If you're a racer who only does a couple of runs before taking a break the Olympia Speed Machine 10 might not have the fit you want but if you're like a majority of expert and advanced female skiers who spend the entire afternoon on the mountain the Olympia Speedmachine is tailor-fit for your skiing style. It borrows a couple elements from Nordica's World Cup Spec Dobermann racing boots but doesn't leave you feeling like your feet are in a pair of performance vises. The Olympia Speedmachine 10 is built for speed but has rounded-down Nordica flex index numbers so you enjoy the fit longer than a handful of race runs. In a ski-shell this boot offers most of the same features found on Nordica's top-shelf Olympia Speedmachine 12 ski boot without the racing-rigid flex rating. What you do get is the same bi-injected polyether boot design with soft pliable plastic throughout comfort areas and rigid material where energy transfer is critical to precision edge hold. Like other female-specific boots from Nordica you'll find three layers of lining material for enhanced thermal warmth. There's also a special ultra comfort tongue that features abundant padding that exceeds anything found on traditional boot designs. While it's certainly not the cheapest ski boot you'll find on the mountain you get a lot of exceptional performance from the Olympia Speedmachine 10--a factor that can make all the difference on big mountain vacations and especially at the finish line.
