works as advertised
I have had my mh transition zip t for a few weeks now. I works as advertised. It blocks most of the wind and is great from 20 to 40 degrees. After calling mh, I discovered that the transition featherweight zip tee is not the same as this one. For one, the featherweight is $30.00 dollars cheaper! It is last year's design so the cut is not the same and the seams are not sealed and can be aggravating if worn alone with nothing underneath. I haven't worn mine yet without a base layer, but I think it would be fine. The only negative thing I can say is that it doesn't have venting and doesn't breath as well as I would like considering I get warm easy while working out. So far I have worn my zip t running but I think it would work great for cycling or any outdoor activity. If you want to save $30.00 and don't need to wear it as a base layer, you might consider the featherweight zip tee. If I would have known that it was available before I bought mine, I probably would have gone with the featherweight.

Excellent quality and functionality
The quality impresses at once. In use, the shirt is light enough and offers security against the cold wind. On the other hand, it is not so "warming" and comfortable as fleece. This is perhaps the drawback of Goretex. The collar is high and the sizing is generous.

Great layering piece.
Fits well as advertised, yet keep in mind it fits close to the body--form fitting--only enough room for a short/long sleeve base layer. I'm 5'9" and a medium fit me much better than the large which I returned without a problem.

Good piece of gear
This layer is excellent at stopping wind. Its great for cool weather or cold weather aerobic activities. It breathes very well. It's also great to bring along backpacking as a windbreaker for mild conditions. It has a lot of different uses which you can use to justify the price if you can pick one up on sale. I'd certainly buy one again if this one comes up missing.

Excellent xc ski top
I have spent thousands looking for the best xc ski clothing, and this is the ultimate -- lightweight, highly breathable, sheds snow, and lasts (two seasons without any problems). I wear a t-shirt (no cotton), a Patagonia Capilene long sleeve top, and the MH Transition. I use this combination from +35F to -20F.
