Trustworthy High Altitude Boots
The La Sportiva Nuptse is an incredible High altitude boot, or a low altitude winter boot. From seriously cold New England days or winter attempts in the North Cascades or Alaska, the Nuptse does a great job of keeping your feet warm while eliminating the lack of sensitivity issues that other double mountaineering boots have. Frontpointing in crampons is solid, and with the proper fit the heels do not slip. Also, snowboarders have chosen this boot for their first choice for a split-board boot. It climbs as well as it descends. The other great feature is the liners themselves. You can walk around camp and not be worried that you are going to beat them up; they are beefy and comfortable. There is nothing worse than having to walk around in your shells at night when you have to "relieve" yourself. They are definitely worth the investment; you're getting every penny in performance, reliability and comfort. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. drewp@altrec.com
