LIMONE PIEMONTE, Italy (Nov. 30) - Poor snow conditions have forced the International Ski Federation to cancel the scheduled Dec. 6 LG FIS Snowboard World Cup parallel giant slalom in Limone Piemonte. The event was slated as the first of five qualifiers for the U.S. Olympic Team. It is expected to be rescheduled.
U.S. Snowboarding Director Jeremy Forster anticipates a decision shortly from the FIS on rescheduling. "This is obviously a very important event for our U.S. riders," said Forster.
The FIS has the opportunity to reschedule the competition in conjunction with the Dec. 17 World Cup PGS in Telluride, CO, or with one of the early January World Cups in Austria or Switzerland.
